MKVToolNix is a free free and open-source software for create, split,
edit, mux, demux, merge, extract or inspect Matroska files on your
Linux, Unix and Windows systems.
Install install MKVToolNix on Ubuntu:
Open your terminal app in your Ubuntu system, and add its signed key to your ubuntu system. To add run the below command.
Then type your ubuntu password and press the enter.Then run the below command in terminal and hit the enter.
If your using Ubuntu 18.04 Bionic Beaver
Install install MKVToolNix on Ubuntu:
Open your terminal app in your Ubuntu system, and add its signed key to your ubuntu system. To add run the below command.
wget -q -O - https://mkvtoolnix.download/gpg-pub-moritzbunkus.txt | sudo apt-key add -
Then type your ubuntu password and press the enter.Then run the below command in terminal and hit the enter.
If your using Ubuntu 18.04 Bionic Beaver
sudo sh -c 'echo "deb http://mkvtoolnix.download/ubuntu/ bionic main" >> /etc/apt/sources.list.d/bunkus.org.list'
If your using Ubuntu 17.10 Artful Aardvark
sudo sh -c 'echo "deb http://mkvtoolnix.download/ubuntu/ artful main" >> /etc/apt/sources.list.d/bunkus.org.list'
If your using Ubuntu 16.04 Xenial Xerus
sudo sh -c 'echo "deb http://mkvtoolnix.download/ubuntu/ xenial main" >> /etc/apt/sources.list.d/bunkus.org.list'
Then execute the below command.
sudo apt update
Then run the below command to install MKVToolNix on Ubuntu.
sudo apt install mkvtoolnix mkvtoolnix-gui
After the installation of MKVToolNix, click the show applications in the Ubuntu Gnome dock and type MKVToolNix the search box and click MKVToolNix to open it. For Unity you can search MKVToolNix from ubuntu.
